Reinstallation

Plexers,

I really love Plex, but I am having some problems and I don't know what to do at this point. I have ubuntu server 14.04 and Plex was running fine for about a year, but suddenly it stopped working. To me, it seems like the service just won't start anymore. I was having problems with some other applications that I have running on this server, but I reinstalled them and voila! they work fine again, Plex not so much. I am a bit of a noobie, so reinstallation is my go-to resolution when I can't find concise instructions in a KB or forums. Well, it didn't work this time.

When I reboot the server (plex autostarts) the app doesn't start. WHen I try to start it manually with service plexmediaserver start, I'll check the status and I always get "stopped/waiting" and I cannot find the process. I have tried running /etc/init.d/plexmediaserver start, same outcome. I have tried start plexmediaserver, same outcome.

So far I have followed the instruction on plex.tv for uninstallation, but I also deleted the user plex after the second try. None of my reinstallation attempts has fixed the problem. I do not know what to do from here.

One bit of important info is that I have to setup a symbolic link for the installation if that matters. It was working flawlessly before if that is any concern. Please help me on this. I don't know what logs to look at, so just tell me where to go from here.
