Hello,
Let me preface this support ticket by clarifying that my networking knowledge is limited at best. I can get myself around but advanced settings and coding are over my head.
I recently upgraded from a DroboFS to a Drobo B810n, in order to modernize my streaming set up from the now discontinued Boxee Box. However, with a limited networking expertise - I am at a loss with Plex + Drobo B810n. Set up was easy enough, and things are remotely secure as they should be.
However, using Plex on Android Shield - causes Plex to timeout and displays a warning that it has lost connectivity to the server. On Roku3 - a similar result only once you click a title to play, Plex gets stuck in a loading mode without result. On both Shield and Roku, immediately after initial setup, one title will play however if you stop that title and try another, both systems fail to load or stay connected to the server.
On iOS connected to Wifi, things work great. Same goes with Samsung Smart Hub. I can play whatever I want and have no time-out issues.
Another odd issue, when reviewing the server on the Device page, it lists the server as a Drobo 5N instead of Drobo b810n.
Tech Set-Up:
Drobo B810n > Airport Extreme Router > Sheild/Roku/iOS
AT&T Modem Set-Up as Passthrough to Airport Extreme
Manual Static IP assigned
All softwares are up to date
Mac OSX Yosemite
12TB Seagate HD+SSHD Drives
Here's what I've done:
Left the system alone to fully process all the data and sync the library
Restarted Shield, Drobo, Roku
Cleared Cache of Plex on Shield
Logged out of Plex several times on Shield and Roku
Deleted server from device list and re-authorized
Changed router mode to DHCP and NAT
Added DHCP Reservation for server IP address
Read/tested the general troubleshooting guide
Would appreciate some hand holding in this matter, it's an awfully expensive set-up to be dealing with this stuff.
Thanks,
-Jennifer
