plex-1.1.3.2700 doesn't seem to start properly - NixOS

I updated from v1.0.3.2461 to plex-1.1.3.2700 today, and I can't get anything to play...

The badness seems to start straight away:

Any idea what needs to happen so that plex can write to plugins ? I rolled back to 1.0.3 and it starts perfectly again.
