How to trigger database backup without stopping plex media server

I made a backup cron ( tar -cpzf $DESDIR/$FILENAME $SRCDIR ) and I would like to trigger the database backup plex is using without stopping the media server while doing it.

Anyone knows how could i trigger it ?

OS. Ubuntu 16.04
