Errors when trying to fling media from one player to another

Hello,

I'm brand new to Plex, having just installed it a few days ago. I'm having a problem with playing media on multiple players.

My system is as follows, let me know if more info is needed:

-Server is running on a headless Ubuntu file server running 14.04 LTS
-Have been trying to fling to Plex Media Player and/or Plex Web on two Windows PCs
- One is a laptop (networked by WiFi of course) and the other is a desktop (connected via Ethernet cable) both running Windows 10.
- Also have a brand-new Chromecast Audio
- All equipment is on the same WiFi network, and these issues have all occurred within the network.
-Having just installed (and then updated) the Plex server, the .deb I used to install it was called plexmediaserver_1.3.3.3148-b38628e_amd64.deb (hopefully that provides the required version info. If not let me know how to get it)
-Trying to control everything using the Plex app on an iPhone 6 running iOS 10.2
-The Plex server on the Ubuntu box is running on one HD, my music (along with a bunch of unrelated stuff) is on a second HD, and videos are on another HD. All 3 disks have plenty of free space.

Here is the problem that I am having:

If I start to play media on the iPhone, and decide to fling it to another receiver, it usually works - once. Switching back to the phone works too. But if I try again to fling to a receiver (the firs one or another), one of three things happens:

  • the app hangs indefinitely with the little spinny circle and nothing happens
-I get the error "Uh-oh! Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again."
  • the other error is something like "could not retrieve playlist"

These hangups generally only happen when I click "Yes" when the app asks me if I want to continue playback on the new device.

Here's what I've done so far, generally based on what little I've been able to find on these errors on the intertubes:

-Restarted everything a couple of times
-Deleted the cache
-disabled "prefer synced version"
-disabled encryption
-deleted the iOS app and re-installed it

I created iOS and server logs and reproduced one of these errors (I think it was the spinny-circle-hung-app one). The forum software doesn't seem to want to let me attach the files, so here's a dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xao0y8qbg4z6ukp/AAABJpJ_-cFCQNx-6xMbCFiha?dl=0

Any help? Thanks
