Is it possible to directly connect to your Plex server from another port?

Hello,

I'm a bit confused about the Plex server's reliance on port 32400. It seems if I attempt to use the port remaping feature within Plex server, the clients will access the server through a relay and be given a "indirect" message while being limited to a 2mbps stream. Why can't the Plex clients directly connect to the specified port on the server? Just because I'm not using the default port 32400 on the Plex server does not mean the clients need to use a relay, it just means I don't want to use that specific port (which could be for many valid reasons).

I've searched the forums and Internet but I haven't found a sensible answer other than "It's hardcoded gg". It actually seems much more complicated and expensive to support server relays then just actually enabling you to specify specific ports to listen on like every other server daemon in the universe.
