Morning all
So I have been trying to get a setup the way that I want it. I have been tilting at this particular windmill for several days, which isn't overly out of line when trying to get something new up and running. I landed on plex because it was simple to install in linux. However I find the fact that there is no direct company support to be unconscionable. I also tried Playon - I eventually paid for the software but that's neither here nor there. With playon I can e-mail the developers and ask questions at any time. They are pretty fast with the replies, but they do it even for free customers, so waiting isn't out of the question. How the Hell can plex want people to also pay, up to 119 (right now) for a lifetime AND OFFER NO SUPPORT THEMSELVES? I mean maybe I missed it, but the only thin I see are a bunch of faq's and message boards. Personally I think this is RIDICULOUS! They want your money, but dont seem to reply to requests (i.e setting the ip in the software rather than auto detect) or support. They sell, users provide the support? I was excited about the concept of plex, it did more of what I wanted than playon, but if you want me to pay you 119$ then you better f*ing be out there trying to help your users. Ridiculous...all I can say is ridiculous.
