Suggestions for plex online Server?

Okay guys and gals, I've seen a few topics regarding plex on a VPS/Cloud/Dedi server kind of thing.. the biggest problem eveyone faces is buying  cheap which provides a lot of storage.

So I decided to run my own server from ssdapp.com, they offer a plex media package, so I thought for the price, which cost around £6.50 (€9.00) for a 210Gb Storage, 6Gb Ram. It was the best place to start, with this offer you can also include rutorrent.

Down fall with this service: They never setup my rutorrent or ftp, only thing that was working was plex. I ended up having to rebuild the system and do it all myself, me only having a very basic knowledge of linux had to rely on the internet to help me set everything up.

I rebuilt using Ubuntu as my OS and Deluge instead of ruTorrent. Once everything was setup and all the ports were forwarded, I began transfering movies/tv shows to the vps.

I then setup 2 free plex accounts and shared my vps library from my paid account to those two free accouns, which my two siblings who live on their own and have kids could use. I wanted to test this thoroughly, so I started with the Xbox 360's in their homes, both xbox's were upstairs on wifi, at least 9 meters away from the internet. Plex Server played 1080p movies and shows on the Max settings with no issues what so ever.

At this point I kinda got a little to excited, if this worked I had planned to upgrade to a bigger storage, a week had past and I was uploading Movies / Series's and getting them to run from their consoles, I even had one of the siblings running it from their xbox one. Things were going pretty well.

About two weeks in and I noticed that accessing the VPS using SSH via putty was showing performance issues, it was really slow. I thought at this point it might be due to multiple users using it to stream from the plex server. But the only one accessing it at that point was me, I checked the bandwidth to see if I could find out the cause, nothing seemed to show.

A few days later one of my siblings was telling me they couldn't watch a series I had put on plex, it kept freezing using the Plex Home, but my othing sibling had no issues watching on the Xbox one or 360.

Though this was strange checked the ports everything was fine, the server has now gotten tothe point were it's like a 56k modem when running through ssh, if it went any slower it would be dead, it got to the point were the server would drop connection and all you get from your end on plex is "VPS Server went away".

I then thought, what if we could use a cloud service as our storage and purchase a good VPS with minimum storage, this unfortunatly seems to be the one thing majority if not everyone within this community has already thought of, and have either failed to do or have managed to be one of the lucky ones to do something like this.

I personaly have no issues with running the server from home using my 160Mb/s Dn/12Mb/s Up connection but then this would restrict me and the amount of users I can share the server with, as I'm a heavy user. The only thing I can think of is purchasing another connection for my property and having it run my own server that way, but my ISP limits the up/down load capacity during peak times. So this is another issue I would be running into.

So any thoughts on what I can do or what server you guys use, would be helpful and appreciated.
